There's no doubt that Turkey, and Istanbul in particular, is a culinary gem by all accounts. Everyone who talked to me about traveling to Turkey immediately mentioned the food, and everyone who’s been here immediately reminisced about it. So, if you're a fan of meats, hearty stews, authentic home-style dishes, rich breakfasts, and desserts that will have you licking your fingers, this is the place for you.
What you need to know about Turkish cuisine is that it’s less about fine dining—there isn’t a single Michelin-starred restaurant in Turkey. Here, the focus is on mastering the craft. The trick is to follow your nose, find the line, join in, and taste for yourself!
